Georgia Polichroniadis is an artist whose practice revolves around exploring the intersection of affect theory, materiality and social practice. She is intrigued by the notion of embodied and visceral language and examining the relationship between bodies, objects, space and the in-between.

Choosing to focus on working with sensations rather than representing ideas, Georgia uses her creative practice and skill set to push material limitations and bring disparate elements together.

She aims to create works that expand into the sensorial experience and visceral reactions that exist before consciousness. Her works often draw from personal experience and are designed to evoke an affective, emotional response.

Georgia is passionate about how art can engage and empower people and society and is eager to find ways where she can expand on her passion for community engagement and inclusion within the arts industry.

Georgia has a BFA majoring in sculpture from RMIT University and completed her Honours degree in Social Practice and Community Engagement at VCA in 2020. She is currently completing her Masters in Art Therapy at LaTrobe University.
