Intricacies Of Attachment | Períplokes Proskóllisis

An abstract embroidery piece – landscape of emotional release inspired by conversations I had with an orb-weaver spider in my garden.

Examining the visceral process of emotional release – sitting within the affect, letting those pent-up energies unwind from my body, transferring sensation from fingertip to thread. I watched and listened as the orb-weaver spider went through the process of weaving and dismantling its web. I felt comforted conversing with that spider, finding myself again amongst those delicate silk lines – the anchor points keeping it tethered in even the roughest weather.

‘Intricacies of Attachment’ is an abstract embroidery piece that captures a landscape of emotional release through sensorial experience and visceral reactions. Inspired by conversations I had with an orb-weaver spider, this work draws from my personal experience of loss in order to embody the healing process. It lies there, hidden amongst the stitches, those intricacies of attachment.
